Mustufa delves into the processes and methodologies employed to effectively manage risks associated with AD technologies during prototyping, testing, demoing, and small-scale development. She explores the integration of ISO 26262 with emerging safety protocols, the adoption of rigorous testing frameworks, and the application of advanced risk management strategies. By focusing on these areas, she provides a comprehensive overview of best practices that can be implemented to safeguard the development pipeline and ensure the reliability and safety of AD systems.
Heba Mustufa is a Technical Lead Manager for Systems at Nuro. She is responsible for the safety program for Nuro’s custom R3 vehicle which includes adapting safety standards to the R3 program, requirement generation, V&V framework design, and risk evaluation. Heba’s work extends to autonomy safety processes and generating end-to-end safety evaluations for the Nuro Driver platform. Prior to her Systems role at Nuro, Heba was an embedded software engineer both at Nuro and in the wireless industry. Heba is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where she received a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering with a minor in Mathematics.
The Pop in Your Job – What drives you? Why do you love your job?
