Since 2022, Carsten has been Manager for System Architecture and Technologies at Valeo Central R&D focusing on strategic aspects of System Architecture, related methods and tools (e.g. MBSE) and new technologies and standards. In this role, he is involved in several innovative projects in the context of ADAS / AD as well as the deployment of ISO21448 in Valeo. 2017 to 2021 Carsten was Systems Engineering Manager in the central sector Valeo Group Electronics Expertise and Development Services. He was managing a worldwide team of experts focusing on the development and deployment of Systems Engineering processes and methods, project reviews and internal technical consulting. From 2009 to 2017, Carsten worked at Robert Bosch GmbH in different positions in Corporate Research on ADAS and in Transmission Control systems. Since the beginning of his career in the automotive industry, he has always had a strong focus on Systems Engineering for ADAS / AD and functional Safety / SOTIF with several publications / conference talks in this area. Carsten has graduated in Mathematics and Engineering Cybernetics from University of Stuttgart and he holds a PhD in Mathematics from Humboldt University in Berlin. Before starting in the automotive industry, he spent several years in Research on applied mathematics at different Institutes in France and Germany.
